Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
